Abbie Eaton and Sir Chris Hoy join 2022 Cup

W Series race driver, Abbie Eaton will make her return to racing, and Revolution debut, at Zandvoort after a long recovery, after breaking her back at COTA last season.

‘I’m really looking forward to getting back into a race car again,’ she explained. ‘It’ll be my first time on track in a proper race car since the accident, so I can’t wait to see how my physiotherapy and rehabilitation is paying off. I need to learn where I am in the process and what areas are good, and what areas I need to target more to be strong on track again.’

With that in mind, Abbie will be sharing the drive with Jorge Calado from Carfection to ensure she doesn’t demand too much of herself physically in this first race weekend. Jorge will be sure to create some exciting content for the ever-popular Youtube channel.

The car maybe new to Abbie, but the venue isn’t: ‘Returning to Zandvoort is a real treat,’ she said. After racing there in W Series for the first-time last year, I think it’s become one of my new favourites. I’ve seen the Revolutions on track a few times and they always look fast, so I’m intrigued as to how they perform from a first-hand perspective and am grateful for the opportunity!’

Someone who knows exactly how the Revolution performs is Sir Chris Hoy, taking part in what will be his fourth season. With a race win at Silverstone last year he will be looking for more throughout 2022.
